The idea of a Photoglobe-mascot was very well received and the response was overwhelming: users uploaded over 1,000 proposals. There was a strong, but not exclusive focus on animals and an abundance of different approaches.
Finally, the jury met and engaged in long discussions. After weighing the pros and cons, the jury members decided for the proposal by Annelie Rowlin from Germany for a mascot for the world’s biggest photoglobe – because they believe that her creative drawing fully visualizes what the new world of photography is all about. It is about the joy of taking photos and sharing them with others globally.
This brings us back to the reason for our mascot competition, namely the world’s biggest photoglobe. The world has never seen anything like this before, so visitors of photokina 2010 should not miss this unique opportunity.
